Job summary

The HCA Trainee provides nutritional and personal care assistance to residents, observes caregiving activities, learns through training, and supports care plans in a community nursing environment.

Responsibilities

Complete the paid training program and practice caregiving skills under direction while assisting residents with individualized care, activities of daily living, mobility, and skin integrity. Document care, communicate resident needs and changes, protect residents’ belongings, and follow infection-control and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent, current First Aid and CPR credentials, and a current food handler card are required, along with passing criminal background and fingerprint checks. Candidates should have compassion for older adults, basic computer skills, effective communication and problem-solving abilities, and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
