Job summary

The Electrical Design Engineer provides electrical design expertise and assurance for naval infrastructure at HM Naval Base Clyde, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency in a highly regulated defence environment, involving asset surveying, design delivery, and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

Act as the technical authority for electrical services, survey and assess electrical assets, and deliver designs for smaller site projects while supporting larger programmes. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, quality, environmental, and safety requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders to guide infrastructure investment.

Candidates need experience in electrical design engineering or a strong desire to develop in the field, along with knowledge of electrical systems in large commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or engineering environments. Required qualifications include a recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, 18th Edition City & Guilds, and City & Guilds 2395; candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain SC clearance and be a sole UK national.
