Job summary

The role is for a Principal Software Engineer focusing on data systems within Roblox's Economy ML team. Responsibilities

The Principal Software Engineer will architect, build, and deploy high-scale, reliable real-time and batch data systems supporting personalization, search, and recommendation across the Marketplace, Developer Monetization, and Payments ecosystems. This role involves leading data engineering efforts, setting standards for pipelines and design, and contributing hands-on to power content recommendation and personalization.

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience as a product-focused data systems engineer, preferably with search, recommendation, or personalization systems, and proven experience designing efficient logging schemas and optimizing data processing pipelines. Essential technical experience includes real-time stream processing and batch processing using technologies like Flink, Spark, Kafka, or Druid, along with familiarity with feature stores.
