Job summary

Seeking a Technical Mitigations Lead to develop and lead safety systems for AI deployment in scientific workflows at Lila. Responsible for designing safeguards, conducting experiments, and leading a team to push safety research beyond current standards, particularly in scientific AI applications.

Responsibilities

You will lead the development and research strategy for safety systems to mitigate risks associated with scientific superintelligence. This involves building technical safeguards, managing safety-testing pipelines, and leading a team to execute these research and engineering goals.

Qualifications

AI safety Classifiers ML system engineering Monitoring systems Post-training techniques Red-teaming Research and development in safety Safety evaluations Safety system development Scientific systems safety

The role requires 4-6+ years of experience in engineering with ML systems and a proven track record of building safety systems for frontier-class models. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to set research directions for complex problems and communicate technical concepts effectively.
