Job summary

Provide direct patient care activities under RN guidance in a cardiac step-down setting, including equipment handling, specimen collection, safety, and patient transportation.

Responsibilities

The Nurse Assistant provides direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance of a Registered Nurse in a cardiac step-down unit. Responsibilities include assisting with patient hygiene, monitoring intake and output, collecting specimens, and ensuring environmental safety through hourly rounding.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and hold a PA Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) certification or have completed one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program. BLS certification is required, and one year of relevant experience or EMT certification may be accepted in lieu of the clinical rotation requirement.
