Job summary

Join Instacart's mission to transform grocery shopping through frontier AI. As a Senior Software Engineer on AI Labs & Foundations, you will design, build, and operate high-scale AI systems, including Cart Assistant and voice AI, leveraging cutting-edge ML techniques, APIs, and foundational infrastructure. You will collaborate cross-functionally, own projects end-to-end, and drive engineering excellence in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate high-scale production AI systems and agentic experiences like conversational shopping assistants. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate foundation models and ensure the reliability, latency, and cost efficiency of AI-native products.

Qualifications

AI CI/CD Containerization Distributed Systems Golang Kubernetes ML Python Typescript Vector Search

Requires 5-8+ years of industry experience with a proven track record of shipping production-scale software and AI/ML systems. Candidates must possess strong proficiency in Golang, Python, or Typescript and experience with end-to-end service ownership.
