Job summary

Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides patient care before, during, and after procedures. They develop care plans, educate patients and families, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safety and quality in surgical settings.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized operating room nursing care using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and patient- and family-centered principles. Coordinate with patients, care partners, and interprofessional teams; provide education; support safe care, quality improvement, and staff development.

Qualifications

basic life support cultural awareness health information documentation medical assessment medication administration nursing patient care patient education

A graduate of an accredited nursing school, an active RN license in the state of practice, and current AHA Basic Life Support certification are required. Perioperative 101 completion and prior operating room experience are preferred; a BSN or equivalent advanced degree and one year of acute-care RN experience are strongly preferred.
