Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to lead the strategy and development of Snap's Storage, Caching, and Identity infrastructure, focusing on building reliable, scalable distributed backend systems across cloud platforms, with strong leadership, system design, and operational expertise.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical strategy and roadmap for Snap's storage, caching, and identity infrastructure while driving high-impact, multi-quarter initiatives. Partner with cross-functional teams to design scalable, reliable backend systems and mentor engineers to improve platform quality and developer velocity.

Qualifications

API Design Backend Services Cloud Infrastructure Distributed Systems Kubernetes Microservices Observability Service Infrastructure System Architecture System Design

Requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field and at least 8-9 years of software development experience. Candidates must have a proven track record of leading complex, large-scale distributed systems and influencing technical direction across organizational boundaries.
