Job summary

Full-time registered nurse role in the Pediatric Extended Care Unit at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, providing patient-family centered, evidence-based nursing care to children requiring observation and treatment after emergency department visits.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric patients requiring observation and treatment after an emergency department visit, including general pediatric and lower-acuity behavioral health patients. Assess and monitor patients, develop and revise care plans with families and the multidisciplinary team, document care and outcomes, promote safety, and contribute to quality improvement.

Qualifications

Assessment Care Planning Clinical Decision Making Communication Family-centered care Nursing Patient Education Patient Observation Pediatric Care Teamwork

A nursing technical diploma is required, and a bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred; at least one year of RN experience is required, with pediatric or specialty experience preferred. A Pennsylvania or New Jersey RN license or temporary practice permit and qualifying CPR certification are required upon hire.
