Job summary

Assist in providing direct patient care activities under RN guidance on a step-down unit with critical and telemetry patients. Perform tasks like feeding, specimen collection, applying heat/cold packs, safety rounding, and transporting patients and supplies.

Responsibilities

The Nurse Assistant provides direct, basic patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, including monitoring patients and assisting with daily needs. They are also responsible for maintaining unit supplies, transporting patients, and ensuring a safe environment through hourly rounding.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and hold a valid PA Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) certification or have completed clinical rotations. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and one year of relevant experience is preferred.
