Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Staff ML Engineer with a focus on perception research, specializing in advanced multimodal large language models and world models for 3D perception using sensor data. Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive experimentation to train and deploy state-of-the-art Multimodal LLMs and World models for 3D perception. Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and evaluation frameworks to support model development and continuous training.

Qualifications

Data Pipelines Deep Learning Distributed Training JAX, Flax, TensorFlow, PyTorch Large-scale Inference Infrastructure Machine Learning Model Optimization Perception Models Reinforcement Learning Transformers

Requires a PhD or Masters in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a similar field with 4+ years of industry or post-doc research experience. Proficiency in scalable model training flows and deep experience with Transformer architectures is essential.
