Job summary

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in .NET and cloud technologies to develop and enhance core backend systems for Trainline, including journey search, fare calculation, bookings, and integrations with travel operators. The role involves delivering new features, maintaining high code quality, mentoring team members, supporting production systems, and working with microservices, event-driven architectures, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Deliver new functionality and features for the core backend product while ensuring high code quality and customer priority. Act as a mentor to other engineers and take full ownership of the development lifecycle from code to production.

Qualifications

Agile methodologies API design AWS C# .NET CI/CD pipelines Distributed systems Event-driven systems Microservices architecture Monitoring & Logging Terraform

Requires strong hands-on experience with C# .NET, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Candidates must have expertise in microservices, distributed systems, and observability practices.
