Job summary

The role involves leading Upstart’s data security program, designing scalable security systems, partnering with various teams to secure sensitive data, and fostering a culture of security ownership and standards. Responsibilities

Define and drive the technical strategy for securing production infrastructure and developer platforms. Lead cross-functional efforts to reduce systemic risk and build scalable security controls across cloud, compute, and deployment layers.

Qualifications

API Development Data Governance Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Data Security Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) Identity & Access Management Least-privilege access Security Architecture Security Program Leadership Software Engineering

Requires 8+ years of technical experience with at least 4 years focused on infrastructure or cloud security, specifically within AWS or similar environments. Must be proficient in coding (Python, Go, Java, or Ruby) and experienced in leading security architecture reviews for complex systems.
