Job summary

The Monitor Technician plays a crucial role in patient safety by continuously surveilling cardiac rhythms, recognizing abnormalities, reporting to nurses, troubleshooting monitor issues, and documenting patient data in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

The Monitor Technician provides continuous ECG surveillance to recognize and report dysrhythmias to Registered Nurses. They are responsible for documenting cardiac rhythms, troubleshooting monitor equipment, and ensuring patient safety at the Central Monitor Station.

Communication Documentation ECG monitoring Patient advocacy Patient care Quality improvement Rhythm interpretation Safety procedures Team collaboration Troubleshooting

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be willing to obtain BLS certification and complete a Basic Arrhythmia course. One year of experience in a healthcare setting assisting with direct patient care is preferred.
