Job summary

Roblox is seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Data Scientist to lead the development of machine learning solutions, ranking frameworks, and causal inference methodologies for the Discovery Experiences team. The role involves collaboration with product and engineering leaders, scaling hypothesis generation, and applying creative problem-solving to optimize user engagement in a complex, large-scale environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of ML solutions and ranking frameworks to power discovery canvases like Home, Search, and Matchmaking. Act as a scientific advisor to Product and Engineering leaders to drive innovation and measure platform effectiveness through causal inference.

Qualifications

Causal Inference Data Science Deep Learning Experimental Design Hive Machine Learning Python R Spark SQL

Requires an advanced degree in a quantitative field and 10+ years of experience (or 6+ with a PhD) in Data Science or ML Engineering. Must be an expert in the modern data stack and have deep theoretical knowledge of Deep Learning and large-scale recommendation systems.
