Job summary

Support structural and piping design activities in nuclear power plant construction, performing calculations, analyses, and collaborating on technical documentation and site queries to ensure standards compliance.

Responsibilities

The Mechanical Calculations Engineer will manage piping engineering interfaces and resolve on-site installation issues for the Hinkley Point C project. Responsibilities include performing piping flexibility calculations, finite element analysis, and ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards.

Qualifications

2D/3D design software ANSYS Code compliance (EUROCODE, ASME, RCC-M) Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Mechanical calculations PipeStress Piping support design RSTAB Structural analysis Technical documentation

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related science field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical calculation, preferably within the nuclear industry, is required along with knowledge of relevant design codes and software.
