Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Product Quality Engineer with a strong background in product development, quality management, and electronics in the automotive/electronic industry, particularly in ECU/Compute modules. The role involves ensuring product quality through design methodologies, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and analyzing data to drive improvements, focusing on semiconductor components and hardware/software interface quality.

Responsibilities

This role champions quality within the product development team, ensuring products meet specifications through methodologies like DFMEA, DFM, and DFx, while defining and implementing quality standards for development, materials, and manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include developing quality plans using APQP and PPAP, driving quality for advanced semiconductor components, and collaborating cross-functionally to address issues and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

APQP Data Analysis Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Electronics Assembly Processes FMEA Manufacturing Quality PPAP Problem Solving Quality Management Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with 7+ years of experience in product development quality/design engineering within the automotive/electronic industry focusing on ECU/Compute modules. Strong proficiency in core automotive quality management tools like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, DOE, and 8D problem-solving is required.
