Job summary

Responsible for monitoring patients' cardiac rhythms (EKG/ECG), responding to alarms, maintaining and reporting data, and assisting with clerical and communication tasks on the nursing unit. Requires knowledge of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

The technician is responsible for continuously observing and interpreting patients' cardiac rhythms and ensuring timely responses to alarms. They also assist with clerical and communication functions on the nursing unit.

Qualifications

Certified Telemetry Technician certification Clerical skills Communication skills Data reporting Dysrhythmia course completion EKG/ECG interpretation Knowledge of health policies and procedures Patient monitoring

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed a Dysrhythmia course. Previous monitor technician experience and a Certified Telemetry Technician certification are preferred.
