Job summary

The Patient Care Technician assists with patients' activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, feeding, and mobility, under RN or LPN supervision. Responsibilities include taking vital signs, performing point of care testing, phlebotomy, EKGs, and maintaining high standards of patient safety and satisfaction. Requires healthcare-related training or experience, certification in BLS, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Technician assists patients with activities of daily living and supports the healthcare team under the direction of a nurse. Responsibilities include performing technical duties such as vital signs, point of care testing, and documenting patient status changes.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and have completed a PCT course, nursing fundamentals course, or equivalent direct patient care experience. A BLS certification is required for this position.
