Job summary

The Staff Nurse in the Oncology Unit provides high-quality patient care by utilizing clinical nursing skills, developing care plans, educating patients and families, and participating in quality improvement activities. Must have current RN licensure, relevant certifications, and experience in oncology nursing.

Responsibilities

Provides direct and indirect patient care within the oncology unit while collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities include clinical decision-making, medication administration, patient education, and active participation in quality improvement and shared governance.

Qualifications

Care Planning Clinical Judgment Cultural Competence Infection Control Medication Administration Nursing Pain Management Patient Care Patient Education Quality Improvement

Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Candidates must hold BLS certification and obtain Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification within the specified timeframe.
