Job summary

Registered Nurse in a float pool role providing patient-centered care, education, and safety in a hospital setting, requiring effective communication, assessment, and discharge planning skills.

Responsibilities

Provides individualized nursing care using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and patient and family preferences, while educating patients and coordinating care and discharge planning. Promotes patient safety and quality improvement, collaborates with interprofessional teams, documents care, and supports staff development through precepting and feedback.

Qualifications

Assessment and Diagnosis Communication Cultural Competency Discharge Planning Health Information Documentation Medication Administration Nursing Patient Care Patient Education Teamwork

Graduation from an accredited nursing school and an active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license and AHA Basic Life Support certification are required. A BSN or completion of a BSN or appropriate advanced degree within three years of hire is strongly preferred, as is one year of acute-care RN experience.
