Job summary

Join Seattle Children's Hospital as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit RN, providing specialized critical care for children with complex medical needs. Duties include assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within family-centered practices, with opportunities for training and support for those new to pediatrics.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, family-centered nursing care in the PICU by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Supervise and delegate tasks to support staff as permitted, and contribute to patient safety and continuous performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Adult ICU experience BLS (Basic Life Support) Critical care Family-centered care ICU experience PALS or PEARS certification Patient assessment Pediatric ICU experience Pediatric nursing Supervision and delegation

Applicants must graduate from an accredited nursing school and hold a current Washington State RN license or another license required for the work location. BLS is required at hire unless an accepted higher-level credential applies, and PICU nurses must obtain and maintain PALS within three months; a bachelor’s degree in nursing and pediatric nursing or acute care/adult ICU experience are preferred.
