Job summary

Lead and develop agentic AI systems for materials science research at Lila, managing a team of scientists and engineers. Define research roadmaps, design system architectures, collaborate across teams, and stay current with state-of-the-art in AI to accelerate scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical direction and roadmap for agentic AI systems that autonomously plan and execute materials science experiments. Manage a cross-functional team of scientists and engineers to deliver production-ready AI frameworks integrated with experimental infrastructure.

Qualifications

AI Systems Computational Chemistry Data Extraction Machine Learning Multi-modal Data Natural Language Processing Physics Python Reproducibility Scientific Research

Requires a PhD in a relevant scientific or computational field with over 5 years of post-PhD experience in applied ML and agentic systems. Must possess deep expertise in LLMs, reasoning models, and Python, combined with a working knowledge of materials science or physics.
