Responsibilities

The Staff Nurse contributes to high-quality, cost-effective healthcare by providing direct and indirect patient care within the medical-surgical oncology unit and functioning as a competent member of the healthcare team. Responsibilities include demonstrating clinical nursing knowledge, applying the nursing process effectively, organizing care based on environmental changes, and continuously evaluating the effectiveness of the plan of care.

Qualifications

Assessment Care Planning Clinical Decision Making Communication Skills Cultural Competence Medication Administration Nursing Process Pain Management Patient Care Patient Education

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing and hold current licensure as a registered nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing, along with a current BLS certification. A BSN is required within 5 years of hire if applicable, and Oncology roles require Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification within 6-12 months.
