Job summary

The Head of Technical Accounting is responsible for ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, resolving complex accounting issues, leading financial reporting, managing external audits, supporting M&A activities, and implementing financial systems. The role requires extensive knowledge of accounting standards, leadership, strategic thinking, and experience in finance transformation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the evolution of the financial reporting function by ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations for novel digital asset products. Bridge the gap between raw custodial data and institutional-grade financial statements while optimizing global systems and SOPs.

Audit management ERP systems External auditor management Financial reporting GAAP Internal control M&A due diligence Purchase accounting SEC regulations Technical accounting memo writing

Requires a background in Big 4 audit or accounting advisory with specific expertise in ASC 606, ASC 805, and DeFi accounting. Proficiency in NetSuite, Workiva, and crypto sub-ledgers is essential, along with the ability to work East Coast hours.
