Job summary

Registered Nurse (RN) in the 6A Acute Care for Elderly (ACE) unit caring for elderly patients with conditions like surgical issues, COPD, stroke, dementia, and other health challenges. The role involves providing compassionate, comprehensive care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and gaining experience in geriatric nursing.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate medical care for elderly patients with complex conditions such as stroke, COPD, and dementia on the 6A Acute Care unit. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of practitioners and therapists to manage a load of five medical patients per shift.

Qualifications

bLS collaborative teamwork communication skills critical thinking empathy gerontology medical-surgical nursing patient care

Requires a DE or Compact RN license, BLS certification, and at least one year of inpatient hospital experience. A BSN is preferred, and those with an ADN must obtain a BSN within three years of hire.
