Job summary

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Uses standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to increase the quality of care and quality of life for patients, families, and significant others. Develops and implements care plans, assesses needs, makes diagnoses, and evaluates outcomes. Coordinates with the inter-professional team and educates patients and families. Demonstrates knowledge of health and wellness practices, applies evidence-based practice, and works safely.

Responsibilities

Provides direct nursing care for cardiac med/surg patients by developing and implementing individualized care plans. Collaborates with inter-professional teams and families to ensure holistic, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Assessment Care Planning Communication Culturally Sensitive Care Education Evidence-Based Practice Leadership Medical-Surgical Nursing Nursing Patient Care

Requires a degree from an accredited school of nursing and a valid Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Must hold a Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
