Job summary

A senior role focused on leading safety analyses and hazard assessments for autonomous vehicle systems at Waymo. Responsibilities include evaluating safety risks, defining requirements, and promoting safety strategies across teams, requiring extensive experience in system safety, systems engineering, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

The engineer will lead cross-functional safety analyses as a subject matter expert to identify hazards, assess risks, define requirements, and drive mitigation and verification strategies. They will also evaluate the effectiveness of implemented mitigations and articulate new safety approaches to various stakeholders.

Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in a relevant engineering or computer field along with 10+ years of engineering experience, including a minimum of 7 years in System Safety engineering. Proficiency in performing inductive/deductive safety analyses and applying Systems Engineering principles is required.
