Job summary

The Underwriter manages a portfolio of energy accounts, evaluating risk exposures, reviewing submissions, and supporting underwriting decisions, primarily focusing on Oil & Gas risks within the energy sector.

Responsibilities

Support underwriting new and renewal Energy accounts, primarily upstream Oil and Gas risks, by reviewing submissions, assessing exposures, and helping determine coverage, terms, conditions, and pricing. Work with senior underwriters, brokers, and internal teams to manage a profitable portfolio, provide responsive service, maintain compliant documentation, and stay informed about industry and market developments.

Qualifications

communication Energy Microsoft Office Oil & Gas relationship building risk analysis underwriting

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, though equivalent industry experience may be considered; candidates should have at least two years of commercial underwriting or related Property and Casualty insurance experience. Upstream Oil and Gas experience is strongly preferred, along with analytical, organizational, and relationship-building skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and the ability to obtain required state Property and Casualty licenses.
