Job summary

The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship offers practical experience in electrical and mechanical systems, centered in UK defence technology. The program includes training on system installation, operation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and design fundamentals, leading to a BEng in Electro-Mechanical Engineering after five years.

Responsibilities

The apprentice will perform system installation, operation, and maintenance on electrical and mechanical assets within the Submarine Commissioning or Mechanical Handling groups. They will also contribute to engineering design processes from concept through to manufacturing while working across various departments.

Qualifications

Drawing and Calculations Electrical and Mechanical Design Electrical Engineering Fault Diagnosis and Rectification Maintenance Mechanical Engineering Specifications and Reporting System Installation Teamwork Troubleshooting

Candidates must hold five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Mathematics and English, plus specific A-level or BTEC qualifications in engineering or science subjects. Applicants must also be able to obtain and maintain BPSS and SC security clearance as a sole UK national.
