Job summary

Assist in patient examination and treatment in urgent care under provider supervision. Handle check-in processes, measure vital signs, draw blood, prepare specimens, and maintain medical records. Ensure exam rooms and supplies are ready, and support patient flow and communication.

Responsibilities

Register patients, verify insurance, collect medical histories, measure vital signs, perform point-of-care tests, and assist providers with examinations and treatment. Maintain patient records, supplies, equipment, and reception operations, while supporting referrals, follow-up calls, and daily opening and closing duties.

Qualifications

A high school diploma is required, and graduation from a medical assisting program and prior medical assistant or front desk experience are preferred. A current BLS certification and an approved medical assistant certification—or an accepted nursing or EMT qualification—are required at hire; CPOE certification is required within two weeks of starting.
