Job summary

The role is for an Engineering Manager at Databricks, overseeing the development and scaling of the Serverless Compute Platform, which manages vast virtual machine workloads across multiple cloud providers. The candidate will lead a team of senior engineers, ensuring reliable deployment, unifying compute management, and collaborating with multiple teams to drive product strategy and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead the Execution Sandbox team to architect and launch a 0 to 1 provisioning service for non-Spark compute workloads. Manage a team of senior engineers while collaborating across multiple partner organizations to unify compute surfaces.

Qualifications

API design control-plane distributed systems infrastructure systems multi-cloud deployment multi-region deployment observability orchestration services scale team management SLOs

Requires 5+ years of experience managing engineers building distributed systems and a degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. Must possess deep technical fluency in infrastructure systems and experience with multi-cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
