Job summary

Support the Head Chef as a Sous Chef in a retirement village, preparing and cooking meals that meet dietary requirements, adhering to hygiene standards, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef in preparing and serving meals for care home residents, serviced-suite guests, villagers, spa clients, and events. Follow food hygiene and safety requirements, accommodate dietary needs, manage perishable ingredients, and maintain a welcoming, clean, and compliant dining and kitchen environment.

Qualifications

Applicants should have professional kitchen experience, ideally including catering for people with special dietary requirements, and an understanding of health and safety procedures. An NVQ or equivalent, City & Guilds qualification, and CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Award or equivalent are indicated; candidates should also be organized, innovative, collaborative, and able to remain calm during busy service.
