The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care for TCH which promotes an on-going partnership between patients and families and the team of healthcare providers. The care is culturally based and age specific. The RN adheres to American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the scope of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities include using the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, documenting care, demonstrating leadership, participating in professional development activities, and ensuring compliance with policies.
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating holistic patient care in accordance with the hospital's professional practice model. They must collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, document care accurately, and participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a current Ohio nursing license and BLS certification, with ACLS required within six months for specific units. A BSN degree is required within five years of hire for those without one.
