Job summary

Lightning AI is seeking a Backend Engineer to develop, scale, and improve the Lightning AI platform, focusing on backend systems, APIs, CLI tools, billing, and security. The role requires expertise in Go, cloud platforms, containerization, and a commitment to code quality, automation, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

The engineer will write readable, testable, and efficient code primarily in Go, focusing on delivering new features, improving system stability, and increasing overall performance of the Lightning product. They will also partner with leadership to set technical direction for large projects, evaluate architecture, and champion software quality through automation and continuous delivery.

Qualifications

API development Automation Backend systems Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Code review Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) Go (Golang) Security protocols System design Testing & Continuous Integration

Candidates must have extensive experience writing efficient, maintainable Go code, along with familiarity with best practices in testing and optimization. Essential requirements include broad knowledge of backend/frontend systems, experience scaling APIs, CLIs, billing, and security, and a proven ability to drive end-to-end feature development.
