Job summary

Leading engineering governance, technical assurance and standards for complex defence and nuclear infrastructure programmes, overseeing design evaluations, risk assessments, and stakeholder collaborations, to ensure compliance and quality across major projects.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering governance, standards, and technical assurance across complex Defence and nuclear infrastructure programmes, reviewing designs and technical submissions and assessing design maturity, risks, and evidence. Oversee requirements, configuration control, and technical change while advising stakeholders, escalating issues, and supporting engineering capability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Candidates need substantial engineering leadership experience in Defence nuclear, civil nuclear, major infrastructure, marine, or another highly regulated environment, with expertise in governance, design assurance, technical reviews, and configuration control. A relevant technical degree and Chartered status or progress toward it are required, along with the ability to obtain UK Security Check clearance.
