Job summary

The Process Safety Engineer at Kaneka North America is responsible for implementing and maintaining process safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, managing safety studies and incident investigations, providing safety training, and supporting safety documentation and assessments to prevent and control chemical process risks.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on implementing and maintaining PSM and RMP programs to ensure site compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. Key duties include leading hazard analyses, managing change processes, and conducting incident investigations.

Qualifications

Auditing Change Management Functional Safety Incident Investigation Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Process Safety Management Safety & Process Safety Training Safety Instrumented System (SIS) Safety Integrity Level (SIL)

Candidates must be proficient in industry standards such as API, ASME, and NFPA, and be able to perform chemical dispersion modeling. Strong emotional intelligence, including empathy and adaptability, is explicitly required.
