Job summary

This role is for a Principal Infrastructure Architect at DigitalOcean, focusing on designing hardware architectures for compute, GPU, storage, and infrastructure platforms. The candidate will lead roadmap development, collaborate with multiple teams, and contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives, with a focus on future-proof hardware solutions in a fast-paced, disruptive cloud industry environment.

Responsibilities

Own the forward-looking roadmap for CPU, GPU, storage, and infrastructure hardware platforms to support next-generation compute environments. Lead the design of end-to-end server and storage topologies while mentoring engineers and evangelizing emerging technologies to senior leadership.

Qualifications

AI/ML Hardware Roadmaps Computational Storage Compute Technologies CXL Memory Pooling Disaggregated Storage DPUs/SmartNICs Infrastructure Engineering Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Initiatives Server Architecture Storage Architecture

Requires 10+ years of experience in server or storage architecture with a proven track record of deploying designs at scale. Must possess deep expertise in AI/ML hardware, rack-scale GPU platforms, and emerging technologies like CXL and SmartNICs.
