Job summary

Waymo, a leader in autonomous driving technology, is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical strategy for autonomous multi-agent systems within the Driver Understanding and Evaluation team. The role involves designing scalable agentic frameworks, applying state-of-the-art AI technologies, collaborating across teams, and mentoring engineers, with a focus on innovative agent-based solutions for autonomous vehicle evaluation.

Responsibilities

Define the technical vision and architectural strategy for autonomous multi-agent systems to improve event triage within the DUE Experience team. Lead the implementation of scalable agentic frameworks and mentor engineers to automate complex evaluation workflows for the Waymo Driver.

Qualifications

Agent-based systems Artificial Intelligence C++ distributed systems External API integration large-scale data processing Machine Learning Multi-agent orchestration scalable architecture Systems Architecture

Requires over 10 years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in AI/ML and building autonomous agents. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is required, while a PhD and proficiency in C++ are preferred.
