Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead Fleet Management, responsible for the technical vision, architecture, security, and operations of Roblox's compute fleet across data centers and cloud providers. The role involves designing declarative control planes, managing distributed infrastructure, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable compute capacity.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical lead for Fleet Management, overseeing the end-to-end compute capacity from low-level provisioning to internal product surfaces. Architect declarative control planes and define internal customer contracts to ensure secure and reliable fleet-wide operations.

Qualifications

API design cloud computing distributed systems Go gRPC infrastructure Kubernetes on-prem data centers reconciliation patterns SQL/PostgreSQL

Requires 10+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with strong proficiency in Go, gRPC, and SQL. Must have hands-on experience with Kubernetes-style control planes and operating compute across both on-prem and cloud environments.
