Job summary

The internship supports ConocoPhillips' Strategy, Analytics & Portfolio Optimization organization, providing hands-on experience in market analytics or quantitative modeling related to energy commodities like crude oil, natural gas, NGLs, power, and LNG. Interns will analyze market data, develop or enhance models, and present findings to leadership, working closely with traders, analysts, and quants.

Responsibilities

The intern will support the Strategy, Analytics & Portfolio Optimization organization by performing market analysis or quantitative modeling for commodity portfolios. They will deliver a final project presentation to Commercial leadership while collaborating with analysts, quants, and traders on live commercial projects.

Qualifications

Data Analysis Econometrics Excel Financial Modeling Machine Learning Market Analysis Optimization Programming Languages (e.g., Python, R) SQL Statistical Techniques

Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or technical field with an expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
