Job summary

As a Senior Software Engineer on GitLab's Authorization team, you will work on permission models, authorization stacks, and API security, mainly using Ruby on Rails. Responsibilities include designing and implementing authorization changes, extending permissions, and collaborating on a modular, scalable authorization platform.

Responsibilities

You will design and implement authorization changes within the Ruby on Rails monolith and lead the migration to a new Rust-based policy engine. This involves owning workstreams from definition through feature-flagged rollout while ensuring the security and performance of permission checks.
