Job summary

This position is for an 8C Charge RN Lead Night shift at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center, responsible for nursing leadership, patient care, staffing coordination, safety, and unit operations within a transplant surgery department. Requires RN licensure, at least 2 years of RN experience, and 1 year of charge nurse experience, with a focus on leadership, communication, and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

This role involves leading nursing staff by assigning tasks, providing peer coaching for quality and safety, and managing patient/family concerns while modeling professional behaviors. The lead nurse also demonstrates leadership by reporting unit issues, acting as a change agent, and collaborating with physicians and other leaders to ensure quality patient care.

Candidates must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, holding a current Illinois RN license, and possessing at least two years of RN experience, including one year as a Charge Nurse. An ADN is acceptable if the nurse agrees to complete a BSN completion program within five years.
