Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to develop strategies for regulatory compliance related to autonomous vehicle technology, advise on legislation, and manage regulatory relationships primarily within the U.S., with some international support. The role involves interpreting legal frameworks, engaging in rulemaking processes, and collaborating with policy teams to navigate the evolving legal landscape of autonomous driving technology.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategies for complying with U.S. federal and international regulations regarding autonomous driving technology. Collaborate with policy and cross-functional teams to integrate regulatory compliance into the project roadmap and provide counsel on proposed legislation.

Qualifications

Communication Skills International Law Legal Advice Legal Interpretation Legal Research Legislation Drafting Policy Advocacy Regulatory Compliance Regulatory Frameworks Stakeholder Negotiation

Requires a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, active bar membership, and at least 5 years of legal experience in a firm, company, or government. Candidates must have a proven track record in regulatory and legislative matters, specifically dealing with emerging technologies.
