Job summary

Profluent is seeking an experienced computational scientist to lead the design, development, and operation of an NGS analysis platform for gene editing and protein design programs. The role involves archit ecting bioinformatics infrastructure, defining analytical strategies, collaborating with experimental and ML teams, mentoring, and promoting best practices in software engineering. Candidates should have a PhD or MS in Bioinformatics or a related field with 5+ years of experience, strong programming skills in Python, experience with cloud and containerization, and a proven ability to analyze large-scale sequencing data.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of scalable NGS analysis pipelines and develop visualizations to communicate sequencing results. Collaborate with biology and machine learning teams to optimize experimental design and establish best practices in computational workflows.

Qualifications

Bioinformatics Cloud computing (GCP, AWS) Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) git/version control Linux NGS analysis Python Sequencing data analysis Visualization and reporting Workflow orchestration (Nextflow, Snakemake)

Candidates should have a PhD or MS in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience analyzing NGS datasets. Strong programming skills in Python and expertise with cloud environments and workflow orchestration tools are essential.
