Job summary

Senior Network Engineer at DigitalOcean responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large scale, scalable, and reliable internet networks, using protocols like BGP, MPLS, and VxLAN, automating workflows with Python, Golang, and Salt, and collaborating on network architecture and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable data center and backbone networks, diagnose complex network issues, and improve availability, performance, and capacity. Automate network provisioning and compliance, guide technical design and documentation, and coordinate maintenance, upgrades, and incident response across teams.

Qualifications

BGP Golang ISIS MPLS Networking Packet analysis Python Salt Segment Routing VxLAN

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree is requested, along with demonstrated ability in Go or Python and expertise with Linux. Candidates should have experience with Juniper hardware and Junos, network automation, observability tools, large-scale data center and backbone networks, and routing technologies including BGP and MPLS.
