Job summary

The Senior Manager, Software Engineer (AI) at Vestwell is responsible for leading the AI Engineering team to develop, scale, and operate AI-powered products and platforms. The role involves strategic planning, technical architecture, mentoring engineers, and delivering reliable AI solutions, with expertise in AI, machine learning, cloud-native development, and team management.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and grow the AI software engineering team while setting priorities and ensuring reliable, high-quality delivery. Define architecture and technical direction for AI platforms and production services, partnering with product, design, data, security, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

AI Engineering AI Platforms Cloud Computing (AWS) DevOps (Docker, CI/CD) Distributed Systems Large Language Models (LLMs) Machine Learning Model Orchestration Python Relational Databases (PostgreSQL)

Requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, at least 8 years of software engineering experience, including 3 or more years leading teams, and experience delivering production systems and AI/ML products. Candidates should have strong Python and modern AI expertise, cloud-native AWS and Docker experience, knowledge of databases and software engineering practices, and demonstrated ability to recruit and develop teams.
