Job summary

Discord is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the technical vision and strategy for its analytical data infrastructure, focusing on building and maintaining enterprise-scale curated datasets, data governance, and sophisticated data frameworks using SQL, Python, and modern data stack technologies. The role involves designing data quality frameworks, monitoring systems, and aligning cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, accurate, and audit-ready data.

Responsibilities

Define the technical strategy and architectural direction for analytical data infrastructure while building enterprise-scale curated datasets. Lead cross-functional initiatives and implement data governance programs to ensure high-quality, auditable data systems.

Qualifications

Requires 7+ years of experience in data and software engineering with expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python. Candidates must have a proven track record in designing data infrastructure and implementing data quality frameworks at scale.
