Job summary

Waymo seeks an experienced safety leader to own Operations Performance on the Field Safety team, focusing on high-consequence issues, safety enhancements, and systems thinking related to autonomous and manual driving operations, testing, and depot environments.

Responsibilities

The role involves leading deep-dive investigations into complex field events and defining enterprise-level safety requirements for human drivers and vehicle operators. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive safety enhancements and promote a just safety culture across autonomous and manual driving operations.

Candidates must possess an M.S. in Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, Organizational Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field, along with 10+ years of experience in safety involving human-system interaction. Expertise in human factors engineering and Human & Organizational Performance (HOP) principles is required.
