Job summary

Upstart Bank is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain scalable backend systems that support the AI-enabled national bank platform, focusing on regulatory infrastructure, API services, and backend technologies. Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs to support the launch and scaling of Upstart Bank. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Compliance, and Legal to translate regulatory requirements into reliable software.

Qualifications

API Development Backend Development Cloud-Native Architectures Distributed Systems Financial Technology (Fintech) gRPC Kafka Operational Ownership Software Design Testing and Debugging

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 2 years of software engineering experience. Proficiency in a modern programming language like Java, Python, or Go and experience with production backend systems are essential.
